Alpine lectures
back to all lecturesLecture by Simon Gietl
Simon is a true South Tyrolean. Growing up at over 1,600 meters in Alta Pusteria, Simon's path was not dedicated to mountain sports right from the start. It was only through friends and acquaintances that he came to see his homeland as an almost endless playground, which from then on would determine his life and shape his personality. The countless first ascents in summer and winter are a first indicator of how Simon perceives the mountains. Each of his mountaineering challenges is analyzed, observed, tried out and then executed to the letter. His reports give listeners goosebumps and wet palms as they listen and inspire far beyond the borders of the Dolomites.
